Tell us about your career:
When I first started in property management I was fresh out of high school as a leasing agent at the age of 18. At this time I was working for a family-owned management company and wanted to make a switch to conventional. Later on I made the switch and I never looked back. I knew this was the industry I wanted to be in. Three-and-a-half years and five properties later, I am where I am now as a full-time property manager for Carroll Management Group. While all properties have very different personalities I treat every resident as if it were myself living there.
I have been in property management for five years. I have dealt with a wide range of properties ranging from subsidy to luxury A-class properties. Every day is different and the person-to-person interaction, making sure everyone has an amazing home that we love and care for is the best part about property management! Growing in this field has really been eye-opening. Property management has allowed me to take on new challenges and learn to see things from a variety of different angles. I truly enjoy and love what I do on a day-to-day basis. I have an amazing team whom I hope and plan to build as the next future leaders of property management.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Never back down from a challenge or doubt yourself. Property management definitely isn't easy however with the right mindset and charisma you can flip anything around! Often you will have people who doubt you. As long as you have faith in yourself you will be able to face any property thrown at you!
