Tell us about your career:
I graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2017 with my BSBA and a major in marketing. I had worked in a few industries and roles prior to relocating to Raleigh, NC to join Brownlee Whitlow & Praet in late 2020. I joined BWP as a marketing intern where I had the opportunity to produce content for the firm and have a hand in our firm's marketing efforts. After 6 months of interning, I transitioned roles to a Client Intake and Marketing Specialist, where I would continue to assist our marketing team with their daily functions, while also overhauling/managing our client intake process. In August of 2022, I had the opportunity to launch our Client Experience Department to support BWP's continuous efforts of prioritizing our clients' needs and ensuring that we consistently improve on one of our core values, service. Relationships are so important within this industry and we are fortunate to have built some pretty amazing ones during our time as a firm. We seek to offer more value to our clients and strengthen those relationships as we feel they are critical to our mission of advancing the professionalism of the residential housing industry, through active leadership, education, and effective & efficient legal solutions for housing providers.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Do not be afraid of what you do not know. If you are anything like me, you are constantly realizing there are mountains of knowledge that you have yet to obtain. I have found it is best to keep a student mindset and always try my best to learn on a daily basis when I can. With that in mind, ask as many questions as you can and keep a listening ear. You never know when someone might drop some knowledge on you!
