Tell us about your career:
I started as a leasing specialist 10 years ago with an amazing company that took a chance on me. I'm so grateful to them because I had no experience and (honestly) was a little air-headed. Through the years, I worked my way through several different properties, positions, and markets. I knew I wanted to help people and I loved the industry, but I didn't know what I wanted to do.
In March of 2020, right before the whole world shut down, Kane offered me an Assistant Property Manager position in downtown Raleigh and I was ecstatic. I'd heard so many great things about Kane's leadership, culture, and values and I was excited to be a part of an ever-growing company. My manager and all of our leadership inspired and encouraged me to take classes, cross-train, and do all I could to reach my goals.
Since then, I've been promoted to Property Manager and, recently, I was brought to our leadership team as the Software & Operations Manager where I can do what I love - support and encourage growth in our amazing teams.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Get involved. Whether it's within your company or your local affiliate association. Connections are everything in our industry. Volunteer and take initiative!
