Tell us about your career:
I was born and raised in Havana, Cuba and moved to the United States with my family in pursuit of a better life at the age of 14. I graduated from Doral Academy Charter High School with a Suma Cum Laude and honors distinction. I then completed my college education at Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, a minor in Psychology and extensive coursework in Marketing. Throughout my college career, I was involved in different organizations such as Psi Chi Honor Society and Phi Mu Fraternity assuming leadership roles on both. I discovered my passion for Marketing while working for Trump National Doral Golf Club as a Marketing Coordinator. Upon graduation, I transferred to Raleigh, North Carolina to work as a Digital Facilitator for a small marketing firm. In my experience thus far, I gained the wonderful opportunity to work for Brownlee Whitlow & Praet, PLLC as Director of Marketing.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
Remain driven and passionate about what you do. Find a company that aligns with your values and where you feel happy. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to with dedication and keeping a positive outlook on life. Be a sponge; listen to your leaders (at work and in the industry) and learn from their experience.
Anything else you would like to share:
Obtaining the Certified Apartment Supplier (CAS) Certification has given me a deeper understanding of the industry we serve and I’d highly recommend it to my fellow suppliers.
