Valet Trash Extension

Today, the Building Code Council approved an Emergency Rule that will delay the current January 1,2021 valet trash container requirements. Under the 2018 NC Fire Code, Section 304.4.2.3 the new effective date will be July 1, 2021.
Valet Trash Vendors have been granted a six month extension, following July 1st all valet trash containers must meet the specified requirements in the 2018 Fire Code Section 304.4. This comes as a result of manufacturing delays due to the pandemic. Below you will find the emergency rule that was presented to the council and the full requirements of 2018 NC Fire Code.
