Meet Your Treasurer: Jennings Snider
CFO, SYNCO Properties, Inc.
Jennings Snider is AANC's current Treasurer, he has been in the industry for 12 years. During that time, Jennings has been involved with AANC for 4 years and the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association for 11 years. With the GCAA, he has served on the Government Affairs Committee, Affordable housing Committee, a member of the Leadership Lyceum group, and currently serves as the GCAA Board President. What does volunteer leader mean to you?
A volunteer who leads.
What is your proudest work/life moment?
I have two moments I would like to share. Work related: I am proud to have helped my company navigate the "Great Recession" without ever defaulting on any of our loans or financial obligations. Life: I am incredibly proud of my family (my wife, daughter and soon-to-arrive son).
What would you say is your biggest challenge?
Balancing work obligations with personal life.
What advice do you have for others in the industry who are looking to serve in a leadership role?
It's very valuable for professional growth and is well worth the time commitment.
Share something unique about your local market.
Affordable housing (or the lack thereof) is a major issue in Charlotte. The GCAA is working hard with policy-makers, philanthropic organizations, housing providers and other constituents to come up with a program that will help improve the situation.
