Hope Program Changes

Last week AANC reported several changes made to the NC HOPE program. These changes were aimed to expedite the award process, increase landlord participation and increase efficiency. AANC met with reps from the HOPE program to highlight changes the created unintended challenges and recommend changes. Some recommendation are still under consideration, while others have been adopted and updated. Notably, the eviction prevention language has been updated and clarifies that accepting the award prevents eviction for nonpayment of rent.
