Regulatory Review

• On March 3, NAA and the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) sent a letter to the White House requesting thorough review of 32 federal programs, rules and regulations across 10 different agencies. Read NAA and NMHC's joint statement and view the letter.

CARES Act Notice Requirement

• NAA spearheaded efforts to reintroduce the Respect State Housing Laws Act - bipartisan and bicameral legislation that eliminates any ambiguity that the CARES Act notice to vacate requirement ended in 2020 - in Congress last month. Read more and see NAA and NMHC's joint statement.

BOI Update

•  In early March, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced that it will not issue any fines or penalties - or take any other enforcement actions - against American companies that fail to complete Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements. Read the latest.

FHFA Pauses Federal Landlord-Tenant Requirements

• The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has issued a three-month pause for implementing three new federally mandated landlord and tenant requirements. The temporary pause marks a win for the industry. Read more.

• Final preparations are underway for Advocate, NAA's annual advocacy fly-in, held March 25-26, 2025, in Washington, D.C., with NAA's Governance Meetings continuing March 27-28. Read the latest.
