Tell us about your career:

I started in the multifamily industry in 2007 with Blue Ridge in Wilson, NC as a service technician. In 2011 I was promoted to Service Manager in Greensboro, NC. While in Greensboro with Blue Ridge, I was able to be active in the PTAA and was a mentor for new employees as they were hired on with Blue Ridge. I left Blue Ridge for about 1.5 years to move to the Charlotte area. During that time I was a Service Manager for Grubb Properties. In 2017 I had the opportunity to return to Blue Ridge. During the next few years, I was able to open a brand new community and get it fully occupied and stabilized in the Fort Mill, SC area.

In 2021 I received a promotion to my current position as Roving Service Manager. In this position I assist properties throughout our portfolio, as well as conduct property inspections, and work on special projects. As part of the senior service manager team, I also am able to train new associates and give assistance when needed whether on a maintenance issue or operational needs.  

What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:

You can't go wrong with this career. Property maintenance and the skilled trades you learn along the way will always be needed and will give you all the opportunities you want as you progress in your career.
