NAA Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor of the Year: Catina Rhinehart

With more than 16 years in the industry, Catina Rhinehart, CAPS, moved up the career ladder admirably. She currently serves as Director of Operations for Morganton Management & Development, which manages 1,000 apartment homes in the Fayetteville, NC area. The properties are located within five miles of Fort Bragg, NC which entices many serviceman to call her properties home. She has developed strategies to deal with the high turnover and stress mentality of continuous lease-up of soldiers and others that require short term accommodations. Turnover at her properties averages 64 percent annually, yet she has been able to maintain occupancy at her properties almost 97 percent.

Catina believes strongly in showing appreciation to her team for accomplishments and efforts. She took charge in her market and created a Fayetteville's own mark survey Facebook page to manage the cities ever-changing occupancy and vacancy rates. She developed a passion for education early in her career and now teaches NALP and CAM classes for her local association. She's also volunteered with the Apartment Association of North Carolina as a Board of Director. One goal is to develop more leaders within the local association as well as state affiliate.
