Tell us about your career:
Property Management found me right out of college as I accepted my first position as a Leasing Consultant in student housing. I was immediately taken by both the challenges this role presented, but also the unique opportunity to connect with people daily. Although my role has matured in the last seven years, the same is still true. I am fueled by a challenge and rewarded by resolution!
I have been a Property Manager for the last 6 years, and in that time, I have obtained both CAM and CAPS credentials through the National Apartment Association, as well as a North Carolina Real Estate License. I am involved with the Triangle Apartment Association's Government and Education Committees as well as the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Councils for TAA and Carroll Management Group.
What advice do you have for someone just starting in your field:
"No matter what anyone says, just show up and do the work. If they praise you, show up and do the work. If they criticize you, show and do the work. If no one notices you, just show up and do the work. Just keep showing up, doing the work, and leading the way. Lead with passion. Fuel up with optimism. Have faith. Power up with love. Maintain hope. Be stubborn. Fight the good fight. Refuse to give up. Ignore the critics. Believe in the impossible. Show up. Do the work. You'll be glad you did. True grit leads to true success". - The Power of Positive Leadership
