Professional Bio
Kat has worked with nonprofit organizations for over 25 years. Her skills and experience include volunteer management, fund raising, program development, strategic planning, and nine years of communications and marketing with a statewide membership association. She is a creative problem solver and skilled writer and editor. At AANC, Kat manages affiliate and member communications, while assisting in all aspects of organizational operations.
A North Carolina native with family roots throughout the state, Kat was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. In 2003, she moved to a 5-acre wooded lot in Chatham County, where she lives with her husband, two sons, and their beloved terrier mutt, Esme. With a background in design and a love of improvisation, Kat spends much of her free time designing and creating quilts. She is also an experienced baker who loves to make pie.
